Alpha Process Controls (APC), a member of the GT Group, has expanded its longstanding relationship with Saudi National Gas & Industrial Company, GASCO, with the delivery of specialist training services.
Following the launch of its training division earlier this year, APC dispatched two of its experienced training engineers to Saudi Arabia to deliver the programme to GASCO personnel involved LPG transfer operations.
APC has been supplying its effective safety transfer systems, including Emergency Release Collar (ERC) breakaway couplings, Driveaway couplings and loading arms, to GASCO for more than 20 years. GASCO delivers Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) to residential, commercial and industrial customers across the kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Each GASCO LPG road tanker is fitted with three APC coupling systems and the company also ensures its customers procuring its gas products also utilise APC systems on their sites. To date, APC has supplied more than 4,000 couplings to GASCO and its customers.
The three-day training programme, which covered the operation and maintenance of coupling systems and loading arms, was delivered at GASCO’s Riyadh facility and was attended by 16 engineers who are based at the company’s operations across the Kingdom.
Delivered as a refresher programme, the training enables the company to meet The Saudi Safety Directives as well as new guidelines from NFPA58-2014 which require operations and maintenance engineers to update their gas transfer competencies every three years.
Alpha Process Controls training division was launched to help its customers and other companies operating in the LPG and LNG markets develop and validate the skills of its workforce.
The division complements APC’s established design, manufacturing and installation of bespoke engineering systems including safety breakaway couplings, drybreak couplings and ERC breakaway couplings, in addition to loading arms and loading skids, which are delivered to clients in the onshore, marine liquid and gas transfer sectors.
John Lamb, Managing Director of Alpha Process Controls, said: “Our training division is enabling APC to provide increased support to our established customer base both in the UK and around the world.
“We are very proud of our relationship with GASCO and this training agreement provides them with added peace of mind that the company behind the coupling systems it has continuously employed for many years is also supporting the skills and competency development of its engineers.”
