Alpha Process Controls successfully launched its new range of Cryogenic Emergency Release Collar Couplings (CERC) for small-scale LNG Transfer, which generated considerable interest from delegates at the prestigious Gastech exhibition and conference.
The range, which is available in 1.5 inch, 2.5 inch and 3 inch configurations, utilises a mechanical cable release system instead of the conventional break-bolt type thereby reducing the forces needed to separate the coupling.
Utilising this technology replaces the requirement to use conventional break-bolt couplings, which can put excessive load on transfer pipework and hose systems.
The UK-based company showcased the range on its stand at Gastech alongside its existing hazardous liquid transfer systems, most notably it ship-to-ship Marine Emergency Release Couplings for FRSUs, which received a lot of interest from exhibition delegates.
The launch of the small-scale CERC range supported Alpha Process Controls’ growing presence in the international LNG market. It has recently reached agreements with Tachyon in South Korea and Somec in Japan to represent Alpha Process Controls in South East Asia and both agents were present on the company’s Gastech stand. Alpha is represented in Australia by Flexonics Flexible Piping Systems with offices in New South Wales, Queensland, Victoria and Western Australia.
Part of the Knorr-Bremse Group-owned GT Group, Alpha Process Controls is a pioneer of Emergency Release Collar technology for couplings and has been at the forefront of the hazardous liquids transfer sector for more than 40 years.
The company designs, manufactures and installs the systems, along with loading arms and loading skids, which are supplied to its international client base that includes Shell, BP, Exxon and Saudi Aramco.
